Developed in response to the changing Canadian aviation industry, this unique program offered by Western's Management and Organizational Studies Program is the only one of its kind operated from a major Canadian university.

By studying Commercial Aviation Management at Western you have the option of combining the four-year Management and Organizational Studies degree with formal flight training.


New Aviation Environment

Today's aviation industry offers many challenging career opportunities. As air transportation systems increase in sophistication, and the role of the pilot changes, airlines are looking for employees who possess an optimal mix of academic knowledge and aviation skills.

Graduates of the Commercial Aviation Management Program who select the Airside option will be licensed to fly commercial aircraft and be ready to assume management responsibilities, both on the ground and in the air.

Graduates can look forward to rewarding careers in airport and airline management, as well as employment as pilots for private or commercial airlines.


Overview

The Commercial Aviation Management (CAM) Program is a one of kind program that incorporates flying along with business. Students within the CAM program will be earning both a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) degree along with a Transport Canada approved Integrated Commercial Pilot’s Licence (ICPL) if on the airside wing of the program. The groundside wing of the program will only be earning the BMOS degree without the ICPL.

Commercial Aviation Management at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), which has started in 1999 is a huge success and is growing year after year. The program has created much awareness among the industry and has brought good reputation to the University of Western Ontario.
