Admissions

Entry into the Commercial Aviation Management specialization is limited and highly competitive. All students entering the Commercial Aviation Management specialization must first be accepted into the four-year Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) program. Students may apply to enter the BMOS program when they apply for admission to the university via the Ontario Universities Application Centre.

The minimum requirement for admission to the Organizational Aviation Management specialization of the BMOS program for Ontario students is the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and six Grade 12 'U' courses, including:

Grade 12 U and M Courses Required
  • English ENG4U
  • Valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate is required for flight.
and two of:
  • Advanced Functions MHF4U
  • Calculus and Vectors MCV4U
  • Math of Data Management MDM4U
Grade 12 U and M Courses Recommended
  • Physics SPH4U
  • Two hours of small aircraft flying time is strongly recommended for flight.

If this does not cover your situation, please see the Admission Requirements section for more details.

A supplementary application is required prior to admission into the program. It will consist of an essay along with some questions.

In addition, all students planning to receive flight training are required to obtain a valid Transport Canada Category 1 Medical Certificate upon entry to the first year, and all subsequent years of the BMOS program. It is also strongly recommended that students who wish to receive flight training have completed at least two hours of small aircraft flying time prior to submitting an application to the flight training option.

It is possible that a student enrolled in the Commercial Aviation Management Airside option who has previous flight training experience may be granted appropriate credit towards the flight training component of their program. Such credit is granted at the discretion of the Director of the BMOS program and the co-ordinator of the flight school.

Because enrolement is limited, possession of the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the BMOS program.
